MZIZIMA'S MEGA EYE CAMP IN MBEYA SERVES OVER 1,100 CITIZENS

A contingent of 18 members with 5 Lion ladies of Lions Club of Dar es Salaam Mzizima carried out a mega Eye Camp from 12 to 14 September ’14 at the Mbeya regional hospital in Mbeya region.

 over 1,100 patients were served and screened whereby 153 cataracts identified and all the surgeries were conducted during the 3 days camp. More than 700 spectacles dispensed with medicines worth of 10,000,000 ml TShs.

Among the cataract surgeries which was carried out there were 9 prisoners from Mbeya prison.

The camp was conducted by 4 Optometrist, 2 eye doctors, 2 surgeons and 2 refractometer operators.

The Eye camp was sponsored by Milmar Insurance Consultant in celebration of its 25 years of operations in Tanzania.

Club spent total of 18,500,000/= Million T.shs.
