Dear Lion Rizwan,
As intimated yesterday I wish to send you some photos covering the DG's visit to Tanga in January, for blogging. They will include coverage of her reception at the airport; visit to Diane Orphanage (club activity); board meeting and dinner, including induction of new member.
Another club activity was visit the family of a sick couple. Mr Godfrey Manga is a leg amputee. Most unfortunately his wife, his hitherto anchor and support, has developed a swelling of one of her legs which has reached desperate dimensions, weighing her down to the extent of almost total immobilization. When the Governor, her husband ang Tanga Lions visited the couple to extend a helping hand with some food items, everyone was so moved by the couple's predicament you could see everyone struggling to hold back tears. Haika is currently admitted to Ward number 13, Kibasila block, Muhimbili, awaiting surgery, probably tomorrow. She has been cautioned that it might culminate in amputation!!
Lions Club of Tanga would like to appeal to the Dar Lions Fraternity to join hands with us by way of any humanitarian assistance possible to Mrs Haika Manga during her current tenure at Muhimbili, and even later, in the course of her treatment and subsequent rehabilitation.
Best Regards,
Lion Godfrey Sawe
