HEART BABIES PROJECT - CHILDREN RETURN FROM HEART SURGERY IN INDIA

Host Club led by Lion Dr. Kanabar and Co-Convenor Lion Shiraz welcomed the children who were sent to India for heart surgery. the event took place on 30th January. A fantastic work done by Host club will remain to be cherished by all Tanzanians and other people with empathy.



















SIGHT FIRST ACTIVITY AT UGWENO BY AZANIA CLUB SCORES SUCCESS

Azania Club carried out a Sight First Activity, provision of glasses and medication to the patients  on the 2nd and 3rd of January 2015 Ugweno Village, Mwanga District  Kilimanjaro.
625 patients were Screened, 422 glasses given and 28 cataracts to be carried out at KCMC Hospital.
7 lions, 4 hired doctors and technicians and other volunteers made this activity a possibility.

DG VISITS MOROGORO CLUB

On 15th January 2015, DG visited Morogoro Club.




DAR FRATERNITY ORGANISE A BANQUET IN HONOUR OF THE DG AT NEW AFRICA HOTEL



On 14th January 2015, Dar Fraternity organised a Banquet in honour of the DG at Crystal Room, New Africa Hotel. The even was attended by over 105 Lions. During the banquet, the DG thanked Dar fraternity for hosting her and providing a wonderful support during club visits. She urged the Lions to keep up with the good work and ensure that they alleviate the plight of the under privileged.

Se further mentioned that the activities carried out by each club were very meaningful and believed that they will be a good introduction for non-lions to enter in to our den.

During the banquet 4 prospective members were inducted, 1 from Host, 2 from Pwani and 1 from Azania.







CITY CLUB DONATION FOR KIDNEY PATIENT DURING DG VISIT

On 12th January 2015, City Club carried out their Board Meeting at Bawarchi Restaurant in Upanga, Dar es Salaam. After the meeting they donated 1ml TShs to a kidney patient who was planning to go to India for transplant. PCC Lion Majid Khan presented Measles Rubella Campaign Cap to the DG during the occasion.

Earlier during the day, City Club members took the DG for the handing over activity of a Class Room at Pande Primary School in Mbuyuni. The Club also donated 32 desks and carried out tree planting as well.

LIONS CLUB OF PWANI ACTIVITY AT BLIND SCHOOL DURING DG VISIT

On 13th January 2015, Pwani Club members together with the DG carried out an activity at the Uhuru Primary School for the Blind. During the activity 10 white canes and snacks were given to the blind. 
The Headteacher was overwhelmed by the activity as she said that the children will now be able to walk more freely then before. The Club President mentioned that the canes were a result of twinning activity with Hettstedt Club of Germany. He not only thanked them but the DG Lion Night and PCC Lion Polly for gracing the ceremony. Lion Night mentioned that the activity was very heart touching and prayed for more of such activities that would reduce the plight of the underprivileged.
